Questionnaire Analysis
Majority of the people who answered my questionnaire are in youth adulthood boundary aged from eighteen to twenty-four. The image shown in question 3 is a photo I took in Birmingham which is a heavily vandalised door with lots of tagging on it, the reason I have choice to include this photo is because I wanted to show the idea of vandalism to my interviewers begin with. The results shows a strong number of people around 35% “dislike It very much” and 30% “dislike it”, majority of the people dislike areas that are heavily vandalised. Question 4 contains a photo I took in Birmingham of a throw up graffiti spread across on a brick wall, comparing to the question 3 this image is less messy and more artistic, and the results shows more than 50% of people “like it”. Question 5 contains a photo of the Berlin wall with lots of tagging across the wall, the reason I choice this image is because I wanted to compare what people feels of graffiti in different atmosphere, and the results shows only a quarter of people liked it. The graffiti in question 6 is created by Skurktur in Norway, it uses vibrant colours dripping down, which shows that life is about being positive and to be creative, none of the people dislike it with 55% of people rated it to a 5 “like it very much”, this shows that people prefers graffiti that are more artistic and creative. The reason I have chosen this graffiti in question 6 is because this is very noticeably recognise as an art piece, the results had a strong feedback of 95% of people who “like it” and “like it very much”. Question 8 included three images of Banksy’s works, this is an open question asking what people thinks about political graffiti, and most people thinks it is the ‘hidden side of political issues’ bringing out the message in a creative way. Question 9 is an open question asking what people thinks about graffiti overall, most of the feedbacks were very positive, and the word “freedom” appeared has been used a lot. For the final question 98% of people thinks graffiti is art.
